WELCOME TO JEDON KOTLER
Permanently Avoided Emissions
Enforced by Ownership
Jedon Kotler is the owner and steward of economically viable oil and gas assets that are intentionally and permanently withheld from production.
By choosing non-extraction over development, Jedon Kotler delivers verifiable, enforceable greenhouse gas emissions avoidance across the full lifecycle of hydrocarbons—from subsurface reserves through downstream combustion.
This is not an offset strategy – It is a permanence strategy.
Project Location: Los Angeles County, California, USA (onshore)
At the center of Jedon Kotler’s work is an onshore, historically productive, technically viable oil and gas asset located within a major urban basin in Southern California. Independent reserve analysis confirms that the asset contains recoverable hydrocarbons that could be economically produced under conventional assumptions. Instead, Jedon Kotler has elected to forgo production entirely, preventing emissions before they occur.
Permanence by Design, Not by Assumption
Most carbon instruments rely on probability, buffers, or future behavior.
The project relies on present-day legal reality.
Permanence is achieved through:
- Binding, documented production forbearance
- Clear ownership of mineral and emissions rights
- Elimination of reversal risk by preventing extraction at the source
- No replanting risk
- No future operational dependency
- Conservative treatment of market-mediated leakage in quantified emissions accounting
Avoidance is permanent because production is prohibited.
Quantified and Independently Validated
Avoided emissions associated with the project are:
- Quantified using conservative, historical production and emissions data
- Accounted for across Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 lifecycle boundaries
The project methodology was independently validated under ISO 14064-3:2019 by Dillon Consulting Limited, accredited in good standing by the American National Standards Institute National Accreditation Board (ANAB), Accreditation ID 8896, with a scope of accreditation sufficient to validate the methodology.
This is not self-attestation.
It is third-party validation.
